Why Tusshar Kapoor’s Bollywood Career Never Really Took Off, Despite A Positive Debut

Son of Bollywood legend Jitendra Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor made his screen debut in 2001 with the film Mujhe Kuchh Kehna Hai, starring Kareena Kapoor. Despite a strong beginning, he found it difficult to maintain his career and only starred in a few successful movies. In a few hit films, Tusshar Kapoor has also played supporting parts.

Satish Kaushik directed Mujhe Kuchh Kehna Hai, which was a big hit at the box office. The movie made an astounding Rs 30 crore at the box office, even though its budget was just Rs 7 crore.

Tusshar Kapoor had a great start in his first movie and went on to feature in a number of others, but sadly none of them were as successful as his first. Many of his later films did poorly at the box office, leaving the producers who had invested in them with large losses.

Tusshar Kapoor’s career saw a downturn after the success of his debut, with hits like Kya Dil Ne Kaha, Jeena Sirf Mere Liye, and Kuch To Hai following one another. It was also difficult for him to maintain his previous popularity since movies like Yeh Dil, Shart, and Insaan were box office busters.

It took a while, but Rohit Shetty’s Golmaal series brought success to Tusshar Kapoor. In these films, which starred Ajay Devgan, Arshad Warsi, and Sharman Joshi in prominent parts, Tusshar Kapoor did a remarkable job portraying a character without saying a word.

In addition to Golmaal, Tusshar Kapoor has won over fans with his supporting parts in a number of movies. It’s interesting to note that he won the audience over to his support parts, something he never did in main roles.

Tusshar Kapoor still has a ways to go before he becomes as famous as his father Jitendra, even after more than 20 years in the business. His career path illustrates the difficulties of carving out a significant position in Bollywood.
