Sakshi Malik said, “Except for Sanjay Singh, I have no issues with the New Federation.”

In the midst of the national wrestling frenzy, veteran grappler Sakshi Malik said that the reason the wrestlers are protesting is not because of the newly-elected WFI panel, but rather because of chairman Sanjay Singh’s involvement—he is a supporter of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-337201″ src=”×375.jpg” alt=” sakshi malik said except for sanjay singh i have no issues with the new federation” width=”1502″ height=”751″ title=”Sakshi Malik said, "Except for Sanjay Singh, I have no issues with the New Federation." 6″ srcset=”×375.jpg 750w,×384.jpg 768w,×75.jpg 150w, 900w” sizes=”(max-width: 1502px) 100vw, 1502px” />

The exception to our lack of complaints about the new federation is one individual, Sanjay Singh. If Sanjay Singh is not present when the new body returns, we have no problems. Additionally, we don’t have any problems with the ad hoc committee,” Malik said.

The 31-year-old wrestler pleaded with the authorities to ensure that wrestling remains a safe sport for future competitors.

We see the government as our parents, therefore I would want them to ensure that wrestling is safe for the next generation of wrestlers. You’ve observed Sanjay Singh’s behavior. She said, “I don’t want Sanjay Singh interfering with the federation.

After easily defeating competitor and former wrestler Anitha Sheoran in the WFI elections, Sanjay Singh was punished by the sports ministry for breaking transparency regulations by announcing the senior nationals at Gonda, a stronghold of Brij Bhushan.

“I’m limited to making requests. It would be better if the ministry declares he will not return. Following the WFI elections, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh’s misuse of authority was seen by everybody. Without much thought, he declared the junior nationals in his house,” Malik said.

The senior nationals will take place in Jaipur early in February, according to the announcement made by the ad hoc body tasked with overseeing the federation’s daily activities.

Malik also asked that age group nationals be held by the ad hoc body in order to protect the young wrestlers from the continuing malestrom.

“We shouldn’t cause any young wrestler any pain,” the speaker said. I want the ad hoc committee to declare the U15, U17, and U20 nationals. The ad hoc committee has already announced the senior nationals,” Malik said.

She further said that throughout the previous several days, fans of Brij Bhushan had been threatening her mother with phone calls.

The thugs of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh have been busy over the last two or three days. Threats via phone are being made to my mother. The Olympic medalist stated, “People are phoning and suggesting that someone in my family would be the target of a lawsuit.

Malik expressed his opinion, saying, “People on social media are abusing us, but they should remember that they have sisters and daughters at home.”

She said, “I am disturbed,” in response to the question of whether she would pursue a career in administration, but she did not respond positively. All we want is for young wrestlers to be pain-free. I’m not thinking about that right now.

A group of youthful wrestlers staged a startling protest at Jantar Mantar, blaming Sakshi Malik, Vinesh Phogat, and Bajrang Punia for the dire circumstances that Indian wrestling is now facing.

“It’s wrong that we are being held responsible for the defeat of the junior wrestlers,” Malik said.

“It will be beneficial if women are involved in managing sports,” the grappler said.

Malik talked about how much she had given up for the sport and the frustrations she had experienced in recent months when asked about the protest against the three wrestlers who led the hartal against the former WFI chief, Brij Bhushan, who has been accused of sexually harassing women wrestlers.

“I have wrestled for eighteen to twenty years.” What I have experienced over the last several months is only known to myself.
