Unicharm India Expands Diabetes Care Portfolio with Targeted Adult Incontinence Range

Delhi, April  2025: Unicharm India Private Limited has introduced a diabetes-focused adult diaper range under its Lifree portfolio for people experiencing frequent urination and urinary incontinence due to diabetes. The brand-new products aim to significantly improve quality of life, restore confidence, and enable greater freedom of movement and everyday comfort.

The newly launched Lifree range comprises four variants: Lifree Durable Absorb Pants with up to 12 hours of protection, Lifree Durable Absorb Pants with up to 10 hours of protection, Lifree All-Night Absorb Pants with up to 8 hours of absorption, and Lifree Durable Absorb Tape with up to 8 hours of absorption. The products have been developed following research and testing in India and Japan, with features such as a Heaviness Guard designed to retain shape during prolonged use and a soft-fit waistband aimed at improving skin comfort.

On this development, Mr. Keisuke Takatsuto, Assistant General Manager, Lifree said, “As diabetes cases continue to rise in India, millions of people are silently coping with urinary incontinence, which deeply affects their physical comfort, confidence, and emotional well-being. With Lifree’s Durable Absorb range, our aim is to provide a reliable solution that offers superior absorption, durability, comfort, and peace of mind making Lifree the go-to brand for people managing incontinence due to diabetes.”

He further added, “Despite urinary incontinence being a common symptom of diabetes, many people hesitate to seek solutions due to stigma and misconceptions around adult diaper usage. At Lifree, we want to normalize these conversations and encourage early adoption by offering discreet, comfortable, and effective products that support better sleep, hygiene, dignity, and confidence. We are also actively working with doctors and caregivers to help people view diaper usage as a proactive wellness choice rather than a last resort.”

As part of its broader outreach efforts, Unicharm India recently hosted a panel discussion at the Diabetes India 2026 – World Congress of Diabetes held in Hyderabad. The session featured leading experts, including Dr. Banshi Saboo, Secretary of Diabetes India and Chair of the International Diabetes Federation, South-East Asia, who highlighted the importance of integrating urinary incontinence management into mainstream diabetes care.
